Amid swirling rumors of a leadership change in Karnataka, Congress has dismissed the reports as mere speculation. A pivotal meeting involving Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy CM DK Shivakumar, and top Congress leaders centered around preparations for the upcoming Rajya Sabha and Council elections.

Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal emphasized the focus of discussions was solely on the elections, with party candidates for Karnataka's Rajya Sabha seats to be revealed alongside those from other states. He stressed that no leadership changes were on the agenda, countering persistent speculation.

The buzz around a possible shift in leadership has been intensifying following meetings with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. This comes as the state government marks three years in power, with Shivakumar's supporters advocating for his elevation to the Chief Minister's position over the past 18 months.
