In Samana, Punjab, civic elections were marred by violence when supporters from two political parties engaged in fierce clashes. The altercation escalated to stone-pelting, prompting the police to intervene with baton charges to restore order at the polling station.
In the midst of this turmoil, a resident named Yakub was injured after contact with overhead power lines. He was promptly taken to the Civil Hospital, where he is receiving medical care. Authorities, led by Superintendent Vaibhav Chaudhary, swiftly deployed additional forces, calming the scene within minutes and ensuring the continuation of the polling process safely.
