India and Australia's Ongoing Commitment to a Prosperous Indo-Pacific

Narendra Modi emphasized the importance of working towards a free, open, secure, and prosperous Indo-Pacific following discussions with Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong about the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. This conversation highlighted key areas such as defense, trade, and technology, as well as supply chain resilience between India and Australia.

Additionally, Modi engaged with Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi, reinforcing the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership's role in advancing peace and stability across the Indo-Pacific. These meetings coincided with the Quad foreign ministers' assembly in India, chaired by S Jaishankar, with the participation of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Australian Foreign Minister Wong, and Japanese Foreign Minister Motegi.

The Quad forum announced new frameworks on energy security and critical minerals to address supply chain challenges. The initiative also unveiled significant infrastructure improvements to enhance maritime surveillance and port capabilities across the Indo-Pacific region.
