Trump Unsatisfied with Iran Deal Progress
President Donald Trump expressed dissatisfaction with the current state of negotiations on an Iranian deal, emphasizing no easing of sanctions and concerns over control of the Strait of Hormuz. Trump reiterated the U.S. position on not allowing external control of international waters and voiced unease about Russia or China handling Iran's uranium stockpile.
President Donald Trump on Wednesday voiced dissatisfaction with ongoing talks with Iran, stressing that there is no discussion about easing sanctions against the nation.
During a cabinet meeting at the White House, Trump highlighted Iran's strong interest in reaching a deal, but noted that a satisfactory agreement has not yet been achieved. "We are not satisfied yet, but will be once conditions are met or necessary actions are taken," he remarked.
Trump asserted that any potential deal would involve the immediate opening of the Strait of Hormuz under international oversight, rejecting any individual nation's control, and cautioned Oman and others against unilateral actions in the region.
