The second phase of the panchayat elections in Himachal Pradesh witnessed an impressive voter turnout, nearing 80%, with women leading the way in nine districts. The female turnout soared to 82.97%, overtaking the male turnout of 76.69% across the state.
Polling was conducted without incidents, according to State Chief Election Commissioner Anil Khachi. Notably, Kullu reported the highest participation at over 85%. However, in Kangri Ward of Hamirpur, residents boycotted voting, demanding administrative changes. Meanwhile, Hamirpur BJP representative Anurag Thakur highlighted the public's discontent with the ruling party.
