In a sharp critique, Congress figure Tikaram Jully has accused the BJP governments at both state and central levels of neglecting job creation, leaving educated youth unemployed despite their qualifications.
Speaking at a Congress training event in Pushkar, Jully argued that unemployment issues are being overshadowed by distractions related to caste and religion. He noted that while about 50 lakh graduates enter the job market annually, only 17 lakh find employment. He attributed worsening economic conditions and job scarcity to BJP's previous campaign promises.
Jully blamed central economic policies, notably demonetisation and GST, for damaging small businesses, particularly MSMEs, leading to significant job cuts and closures. He alleged that numerous government job vacancies remain unaddressed, and criticized efforts to sidetrack the public with social and religious debates. Citing Congress's past policies, Jully highlighted how initiatives such as MGNREGA contributed to employment growth.
