Shivakumar Claims Right to Form Government in Karnataka

D K Shivakumar has officially sought to form a new government in Karnataka after meeting with Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot. Accompanied by former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Shivakumar is set to be sworn in as Chief Minister on June 3, following his election as leader of the legislature party.

D K Shivakumar, the newly chosen leader of the Karnataka Congress Legislative Party, met with Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot at Lok Bhavan to formally claim the right to form the new state government.

Joined by outgoing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and other senior leaders, Shivakumar's swearing-in is scheduled for June 3, marking his ascent as Karnataka's next Chief Minister. Previously, he served as Deputy Chief Minister in the government led by Siddaramaiah, who resigned recently. The Governor accepted the resignation and dissolved the Council of Ministers.
