Israel reportedly struck an area near the Khondab heavy-water research reactor, part of Iran's nuclear program, according to the Iranian Student News Agency (ISNA) on Thursday.
Officials confirmed that the site was evacuated ahead of the attack, ensuring no radiation threat, ISNA further detailed.
The research facility, known as Arak before being partially built, is projected to become operational next year, as Tehran notified the UN nuclear watchdog.
