Heavy rains in Jharkhand have claimed the lives of two schoolboys who were trapped for over 22 hours after a well collapsed in Khunti district. Their bodies were recovered on Thursday, according to officials.
In another tragic incident, a 10-year-old girl was killed when her mud house in Ranchi caved in due to the relentless downpour. Meanwhile, infrastructure in other parts of the state has also suffered significant damage. In Khunti's Torpa, a portion of a bridge collapsed, obstructing the Khunti-Simdega road.
Several districts, including Ranchi and Khunti, have been severely affected, prompting the closure of schools. With rivers swelling and infrastructure crumbling, authorities have sounded alerts and deployed rescue teams to manage the situation.
