Rajasthan witnessed a confluence of weather extremes, with heavy rains lashing several parts while a heatwave scorched others. Karauli stood out with 36.5 mm of rainfall, marking the highest recorded in the region on Thursday, according to the Meteorological Department's spokesperson.

As of 5:30 pm Thursday, Ajmer saw a downpour of 18.2 mm, while Pratapgarh and Kota recorded 5.5 mm and 4.6 mm respectively. Simultaneously, intense heat persisted in certain areas, with Jaisalmer registering the highest maximum temperature of 44.6 degrees Celsius, closely followed by Sriganganagar, Phalodi, and Barmer.

In the 24 hours leading up to 8:30 am Thursday, Bharatpur tehsil endured the most substantial rainfall at 85.0 mm, followed by Deeg, Tatgarh, and other regions. The MeT department anticipates heavy to very heavy rain in the Kota division and surrounding districts around June 19 and 20, with thunderstorms likely in eastern parts as well.
