In addressing the media, NDMC Vice Chairperson Kuljeet Singh Chahal emphasized the replacement of the existing outdated fleet with five new CNG-operated sweepers, funded under Central Pollution Control Board guidelines. This move aims to tackle persistent dust pollution while ensuring efficient coverage of the daily 365-kilometre cleaning stretch.
In another progression, the Council passed a resolution condemning the 1975 Emergency, stressing the importance of safeguarding democracy. Concurrently, efforts were directed towards enhancing the city's religious sites and integrating communities within JJ clusters into mainstream urban development.
