A tense situation unfolded in a Jharkhand village when a Royal Bengal Tiger entered a local's home early Wednesday morning, causing widespread alarm among residents.
The incident took place in Mardu village, Silli block, near the West Bengal border, where resident Purandar Mahto found the tiger in his home. Quick-thinking assured the safety of two children inside.
Forest officials from the Palamau Tiger Reserve arrived promptly, safely trapping and tranquilizing the tiger. It will undergo health checks at Ranchi's Birsa zoo before a possible return to the wild.
