In a tragic series of events, flash floods hit Himachal Pradesh's Kangra district, claiming four lives as of Thursday. The floodwaters, triggered by intense rainfall and cloudbursts, devastated a hydro project site, leading to the recovery of four bodies, with more remaining unaccounted for.
The disaster has prompted intensified search operations by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), along with state police and home guards, who are battling harsh weather and rugged terrain to locate seven missing individuals. Rescues have occurred, but exact figures for those saved have not been disclosed.
Government officials and local representatives have expressed their condolences to the families affected and raised questions regarding safety measures and negligence at the project site.
