Nepal's Mugu district endured two successive earthquakes in less than a day, shaking residents' nerves. The first tremor, measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale, struck Jima village on Sunday afternoon. The following morning brought another jolt, this time a 4.3 magnitude quake in the Kotdanda area.
Authorities from the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre recorded the latest tremor at 8.39 am on Monday. Despite the unsettling seismic activity, no immediate reports of damage have emerged from the affected areas.
The frequent earthquakes serve as a stark reminder of Nepal's vulnerability to seismic hazards, particularly in its mountainous regions, where geological activity is a natural part of life.
