In a tragic incident, three teens lost their lives after falling into a water-filled pit at a construction site in Nashik, Maharashtra. The deceased, identified as Sai Gorakh Garad, Sai Hilal Jadhav, and Sai Kedarnath Ugale, had been missing since Sunday morning, according to local police.
The police launched a search after receiving a missing persons report and later discovered their clothes abandoned near the dangerous site. The bodies were subsequently retrieved by the fire brigade, igniting public outrage in the area.
Enraged residents staged a protest, blocking roads and demanding accountability. In response to the public outcry, builder Vijay Shekhalia and contractor Akash Gaikwad have been arrested under charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Authorities continue to investigate the lack of safety measures at the site.
