The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast for significant rainfall in multiple districts across West Bengal, anticipated in the coming days owing to a low-pressure area near the coast.
According to the IMD, this low-pressure system and an active monsoon are likely to result in light to moderate rain in most parts of the state over the next five days.
Heavy rainfall is expected to be particularly severe in districts like Paschim Medinipur, Purulia, Bankura, and Jhargram, extending to parts of South 24 Parganas and other neighboring districts. Fishermen have been advised against venturing into the sea due to the rough conditions predicted by the meteorological office.
