Tropical Storm Flossie is gaining strength off the southwestern Pacific coast of Mexico and is expected to transform into a hurricane by Tuesday.

As Flossie intensifies, Mexican authorities have issued a tropical storm warning for the coast from Punta San Telmo to Playa Perula and a watch for the area from Zihuatanejo to Cabo Corrientes.

While Flossie's center is predicted to stay offshore, it could bring moderate rains to Oaxaca, Guerrero, Michoacan, Colima, and Jalisco. Meanwhile, remnants of Barry, which struck the Gulf Coast, continue to dump heavy rain.
