As the state grapples with extreme weather, the topographically fragile areas in Shimla, Kangra, Chamba, Sirmaur, and Mandi have been significantly affected. Meteorological warnings for very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall were issued, underscoring the severity of the monsoon's impact.
Authorities have urged people to stay away from rivers and drains. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu emphasized the importance of inter-departmental coordination to ensure timely responses to emergencies such as flash floods and landslides.
