The Uttar Pradesh government has unveiled an ambitious initiative to transform cow dung from stray cattle into a variety of sustainable products. This plan targets the daily generation of 54 lakh kilograms of cow dung, aiming to create bioplastics, bio-polymers, and other eco-friendly materials.
The 'Har Gaon Urja Kendra' model, which underpins this directive, seeks to address plastic pollution while fostering rural employment and energy independence. Shyam Bihari Gupta, Chair of the Gau Seva Commission, notes that this initiative aligns with the state's vision for rural empowerment.
With technical expertise from Dr. Shuchi Verma, the project expects to provide significant employment opportunities in rural areas and support entrepreneurship among women, strengthening the local economy. It positions Uttar Pradesh as a leader in environmental sustainability efforts.
