Anemia and pneumonia have been identified as the causes behind the deaths of three lion cubs in Gujarat's Amreli district, confirmed by a senior forest department official on Friday.
The cubs, two of which succumbed on July 28 and the third on July 30, were discovered abandoned near Kagvadar village. Although nine other lions rescued from the area remain healthy, concerns linger over resources and facilities.
Local BJP MLA Hirabhai Solanki has accused forest officials of negligence, citing a lack of vehicles and operational rescue centers in a region with a significant lion population outside Gir Forest.
