Maharashtra's Road to Rural Revival: New Plan for Farm Connectivity

The Maharashtra government has initiated efforts to boost rural connectivity by forming a high-level committee spearheaded by Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule. This committee is set to devise a comprehensive strategy to enhance farm and access roads throughout the state.

Comprising 23 members, including key ministers and senior officials, the committee is expected to deliver its report within a month. The move was catalyzed by concerns raised in the state legislature regarding poor road conditions.

The initiative aims to enable year-round transportation of agricultural produce and promote mechanization, according to a statement from the committee. The report will include practical recommendations for road improvements to ensure sustainable village-to-field connectivity, especially during monsoon months.
