Goa Government to Study Village Carrying Capacity to Protect Resources

The Goa government announced in the state assembly its intention to assess the carrying capacity of villages, aiming to prevent demographic changes and protect local resources.

Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho explained that the study will be conducted with input from various departments to ensure a comprehensive approach.

This move responds to demands from local panchayats and legislators concerned about the impact of large housing projects, which risk altering the character of traditional Goan villages.
