A tragic incident unfolded in Bijnor district, Uttar Pradesh, where a 35-year-old woman was fatally attacked by a leopard while working in her field, officials reported Thursday. The deadly encounter occurred in Bhikkawala village, within the Afzalgarh area.
Ankita Kishor, forest range officer at Amangarh Tiger Reserve, stated that the victim, Poonam, was mauled to death by the big cat. The leopard, after attacking the woman, consumed flesh from her shoulder.
Authorities have sent the body for an autopsy to confirm the details of the attack and to ensure all necessary measures are taken to prevent future incidents.
