Ankita Kishor, forest range officer at Amangarh Tiger Reserve, stated that the victim, Poonam, was mauled to death by the big cat. The leopard, after attacking the woman, consumed flesh from her shoulder.

Authorities have sent the body for an autopsy to confirm the details of the attack and to ensure all necessary measures are taken to prevent future incidents.
