A tragic incident unfolded in Bihar's Samastipur district, as three members of a family lost their lives due to electrocution from a live wire. The mishap occurred on Sunday evening in the Vibhutipur locality, police authorities reported on Monday.
The victims were identified as 60-year-old Shanti Devi, her son Arun Ram, and her grandson Ajeet Kumar Ram. The calamity began when Arun Ram accidentally contacted an electric wire outside their home, resulting in him being fatally electrocuted. In a desperate attempt to assist, his mother and a child also came into contact with the wire.
Jitendra Ram, a Zila Parishad member, provided details to reporters, stating that the police had transported the victims to the nearest government hospital where the tragic toll was confirmed. While three lives were lost, the child survived with burn injuries and is receiving medical treatment. Authorities have stated that they await a formal complaint from the family before initiating further legal procedures.
