Tragic Road Safety Concerns Arise After Fatal Accident Involving Young Schoolgirl

A heartbreaking road accident in Kozhinjampara, north Kerala, claimed the life of a seven-year-old girl, Nafisath Misriya, on Monday morning. The young student fell from her father's scooter and was run over by a bus, prompting local protests over persistent road safety issues.

Eyewitnesses report that the scooter lost control when an auto rickshaw abruptly stopped due to a pothole on the Palakkad-Pollachi Road. While Nafisath's father sustained minor injuries, the girl tragically fell into the path of an oncoming bus and died instantly.

Amid growing discontent over deteriorating road conditions, the police have launched an investigation and plan to file a case. The tragic incident has resonated across the state, with State General Education Minister V Sivankutty offering his condolences and acknowledging the widespread grief.
