Tragedy in Delhi: Sewer Cleaning Turns Fatal
A tragic sewer cleaning incident in northwest Delhi led to the death of Arvind and left three others critically injured. The men worked for a construction company and fell unconscious in the sewer. A case has been filed under various legal provisions concerning negligence and manual scavenging.

A tragic incident unfolded in northwest Delhi's Ashok Vihar, where a 40-year-old man, Arvind, tragically lost his life while cleaning a sewer. Three others were hospitalized in critical condition after falling into the sewer in an unconscious state.
The incident occurred late Tuesday night near Harihar Apartments, as confirmed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (northwest) Bhisham Singh. The men were engaged in sewer cleaning for a local construction firm. Arvind was declared dead upon arrival at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital.
Authorities have registered a case under negligence and the Prohibition of Employment as Manual Scavengers Act. A crime team has been dispatched to the site, and the company's manager summoned for questioning to aid in the ongoing investigation.
