Man's Narrow Escape from Wild Elephant Encounter

A man, identified as Jithendran, faced serious injuries after a wild elephant attack at Palode, officials reported on Sunday.
Jithendran, a resident of Idinjar, was on his scooter at 6.45 am when an aggressive tusker, wandering near the road, charged at him, causing him to fall.
The injured man's cries prompted locals' intervention, who expelled the elephant and took Jithendran to a hospital, where he was treated for multiple fractures and referred to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. Forest officials confirmed his stable condition but noted no previous aggression from the elephant.
