A tragic accident on the Chennai-Bengaluru highway on Friday resulted in the deaths of a 35-year-old woman and her teenage son from Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred in Shoolagiri during their morning walk.

The victims, identified as Swetha Banu and her 15-year-old son, Samir, were fatally hit by a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) traveling from Bengaluru to Chennai. The impact caused the vehicle to skid into a roadside gutter.

Authorities promptly arrested the SUV driver and seized the vehicle. A case has been registered, and investigations are currently ongoing. The bodies have been sent to Krishnagiri Government Hospital for post-mortem examinations.
