Andhra Pradesh's Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu emphasized the foundational role of land for Amaravati, the state's emerging capital city. Speaking to farmers who contributed land, Naidu stated, "A capital cannot be built in the sky." The community's support has been pivotal in the city's developmental journey.
The initiative, which pooled 54,000 acres from over 29,000 farmers, underscores the cooperative spirit behind Amaravati's growth. Naidu reminisced about his past experiences with Hyderabad's expansion, contrasting Amaravati's reliance on citizen cooperation. He reiterated a commitment to support the farmers whose contributions laid the city's groundwork.
Naidu also highlighted that the Amaravati project is unique because it's self-financed. With substantial funds committed by international agencies like the World Bank, the Chief Minister advocated for continued government support to ensure Amaravati's prominence as a city of innovation and sustainable development.
