In an inspection visit that underscored the challenges of urban development, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu visited Swabhiman Apartments in Ashok Vihar. Developed by the DDA, these apartments are part of a significant housing initiative inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
During the visit, residents expressed gratitude for their new homes but also raised concerns about maintenance issues such as seepage, waste management, and irregular lift service. Miscreant activities were also highlighted as a problem.
The Delhi Development Authority has been directed to swiftly address these concerns. The initiative, aimed at improving housing for Jhuggi Jhopri cluster residents, is vital for fulfilling the vision of 'Viksit Dilli and Viksit Bharat'.
