Rajasthan is currently facing a severe heatwave, with Barmer recording a record temperature of 45.7 degrees Celsius, significantly over the norm. The state's temperatures are expected to continue rising, fueled by an ongoing heatwave affecting several key areas.
The Meteorological Department reported that Jaisalmer registered 44.9 degrees Celsius, followed closely by Bikaner at 44.5 degrees, and Jodhpur at 44.4 degrees. As temperatures escalate, the department has forecasted further increases of 1-2 degrees Celsius in parts of Rajasthan over the next few days.
There may be some respite soon, as a weak western disturbance is predicted to potentially bring light weather activity from April 26 to April 29, though isolated heatwave conditions could persist in the western and northeastern regions.
