In a strategic move to enhance developmental infrastructure, six border villages in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district have been incorporated into the Centre's Vibrant Village Programme-II. This initiative aims for a comprehensive saturation of welfare schemes, officials reported on Sunday.
Villages including Bobiya, Kadyala, and others along the International Border were identified for development, as discussed in a meeting chaired by Kathua Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma. Officials were urged to execute plans efficiently with continuous monitoring and inter-departmental coordination.
Simultaneously, during a 'Block Diwas' programme in the Nowshera sector, residents raised issues such as transformer installations and improved educational facilities. Community input in infrastructure upgrades and welfare enhancement highlights the ongoing commitment to regional development.
