Goa's Bold Conservation Move: Zuari Area Declared No-Development Zone

The Goa Town and Country Planning Board has taken a significant step towards conservation by declaring the land surrounding the Zuari Industrial Estate a no-development zone (NDZ).

This decision aligns with a Supreme Court mandate that supports maintaining the area as private forest land, crucial for the region's ecological balance.

Town and Country Planning Minister Vishwajit Rane termed this a 'historic move' and noted that it is part of a larger conservation strategy inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's MISHTI scheme.
