Gurugram Metro Project Gets a Boost with Revised Funding Plans

The Haryana Cabinet recently endorsed a revised financial plan for the Gurugram Metro project, signaling an important advancement in the city's urban mobility efforts. Key elements include cost escalations and integration adjustments with Rapid Metro and the railway station spur, now totalizing Rs 10,266.54 crore, up from Rs 5,452.72 crore.

This financial augmentation results from various factors such as GST rate adjustments and standalone planning for the corridor from Millennium City Centre to Cyber City. The revised blueprint, initiated by M/s RITES and previously approved by local and national authorities, envisions a 28.50 km stretch with 27 stations.

Additionally, the supplement reports were approved, aiming for seamless metro and railway service fusion. With World Bank support for the soft loan component locked in, the project continues to edge closer to realization, led under the guidance of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Haryana's administrative leadership.
