Tragic Flows: Floods and Earthquakes Strike Southern China
At least nine people died as a truck fell into a flooded river in China's Guangxi amid torrential rains. Additionally, two earthquakes in Liuzhou killed two more and forced evacuations. Authorities have distributed relief supplies as more rain is expected to hit the region over the next few days.
Torrential rains continue to wreak havoc in China's southwestern province of Guangxi, leading to tragic incidents and causing widespread damage.
On Saturday, a pickup truck carrying 15 passengers plunged into a swollen river, resulting in nine fatalities. The truck was returning from a sweet potato planting visit when it fell off a submerged bridge in the deluge.
Adding to the calamity, two magnitude 5.2 earthquakes struck Guangxi's Liuzhou city, claiming two more lives and displacing over 7,000 residents. Government relief efforts are underway as more downpours are anticipated in the affected regions.
