Wildlife Conservation Boost at Sariska Tiger Reserve

An animal care organisation on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Rajasthan Government for setting up a nature interpretation centre at the Sariska Tiger Reserve.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Forest Minister Sanjay Sharma and Vedanta Limited Non-Executive Director and The Animal Care Organisation (TACO) -- an animal welfare initiative of the Anil Agarwal Foundation under Vedanta Group -- Anchor Priya Agarwal Hebbar, along with senior government officials.

The proposed centre aims to promote awareness for wildlife conservation, environmental education and community engagement.

''It will serve as a platform for visitors and local communities to better understand biodiversity conservation, ecological sustainability and wildlife protection,'' a release said.

On the occasion, Sharma and Hebbar also flagged off eight surveillance vehicles for the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve to strengthen wildlife monitoring and patrolling activities.

''The Nature Interpretation Centre at Sariska and the surveillance vehicles at Ranthambore will help strengthen and safeguard some of India's most significant wildlife landscapes,'' Hebbar said.

The vehicles will support round-the-clock surveillance, improve mobility of field teams and enhance rapid response capabilities for wildlife protection across the reserve.
