A significant forest fire in Kasauli's Gilbert Trail and Upper Mall was successfully contained by the Indian Army on Wednesday. The fire, which began on Tuesday afternoon, quickly spread across the forested region, prompting a rapid response to prevent it from reaching vulnerable areas.
In collaboration with the Indian Air Force, local authorities, and other agencies, the Army's Kasauli Brigade initiated a comprehensive operation involving both ground and aerial firefighting techniques. Army troops and local fire departments, along with Air Force helicopters, played a crucial role in dousing the flames and creating firebreaks to isolate hotspots.
Despite the challenging terrain, the operation, lasting over 15 hours, effectively controlled the blaze.
