The Indian Premier League (IPL) has been put on hold as military tensions between India and Pakistan intensify. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the suspension, emphasizing national interests amidst rising aggression following a terror attack.

Uncertainty loomed over the tournament after the cancellation of a scheduled match due to air raid alerts. In a statement, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the immediate suspension and awaited further updates on the tournament schedule.

The decision aligns with the BCCI's commitment to national security, supporting government and military efforts. Foreign players expressed concerns about the security situation, with the Pakistan Super League also relocated to the UAE in response to the conflict.
