In a landmark decision aimed at promoting sports and academics, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced that students participating in national and international sports events would receive 'special leave attendance'.
Currently, athletes are marked as absent, which impacts their attendance and internal assessments adversely. The new directive ensures participation certificates from recognized bodies will serve as proof, significantly benefiting student-athletes.
By mandating this inclusion, the state aims to adopt an integrated approach where sports and education complement each other, marking a progressive step for the region's education and sports sectors.
