Thakran Triumphs: Gurugram Golfer Clinches Maiden PGTI NEXGEN Title

Overcoming a four-shot deficit, Thakran ended with a nine-under 171, securing a two-shot victory. Chandigarh's Vasu Sehgal and Karnal's Tushar Pannu tied for second.

In a compelling display of golfing prowess, Manish Thakran from Gurugram secured his first professional title at the PGTI NEXGEN Imperial Golf Estate in Ludhiana. Thakran's stellar performance in the final round, marked by a five-under 67, saw him outshine competitors to clinch the title with a total score of nine-under 171.
The 29-year-old golfer, who began the day tied for fourth place and four shots off the lead, capitalized on his impeccable form to achieve a two-shot victory margin. His triumph not only earned him a winning cheque of Rs 2,54,300 but also propelled him to 11th place on the 2025 PGTI NEXGEN Order of Merit rankings.
Teen sensation Vasu Sehgal from Chandigarh and Karnal's Tushar Pannu both showed commendable performances, tying for second place at seven-under 173. Meanwhile, Lucknow's Rajesh Kumar Gautam and Rohit Narwal of Karnal shared the fourth spot at six-under 174. Gautam continues to lead the Order of Merit this season.
