Teen sensation Vasu Sehgal from Chandigarh delivered an impeccable five-under 67 in the second round of the PGTI NEXGEN Imperial Golf Tournament in Ludhiana, climbing two places to seize the lead with a remarkable total of eight-under 100.
The 19-year-old demonstrated exceptional prowess, establishing a commanding three-shot advantage. Meanwhile, Noida's Lakshya Nagar also impressed with a flawless 67, propelling him up 13 positions to a tied second with Karnal's Tushar Pannu, who ended with a 72.
Golfers Digraj Singh Gill and Manish Thakran from Gurugram, along with Rohit Narwal from Karnal, each showed formidable performances and tied fourth at four-under 104.
The tournament, held on the par-72, nine-hole course at Imperial Golf Estate, saw 40 professionals advance past the cut set at two-over 110 to the final round.
Sehgal, tied third overnight, launched his round with early birdies and sustained momentum with three consecutive ones from the 10th hole. Despite missing a few putts, Sehgal is optimistic about his form post swing and club adjustments earlier this year.
"I've enjoyed playing here at the Imperial Estate," said Sehgal. "The setting is excellent, and my focus for the final round will be on hitting as many fairways and greens as possible."
