The Government Railway Police (GRP) made a significant drug bust at Kalyan station, recovering 20.86 kg of ganja from two passengers. The operation took place after officials noticed suspicious behavior from the individuals, Mehtab Alam Irshad Alam Sheikh and Lal Ahmed Momin Amin Kotki, as they disembarked from the Puri Express.
The suspects were found carrying unusually large bags, prompting a search that unveiled ganja worth Rs 4.17 lakh. Both men have been arrested and charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, according to police reports.
The GRP is actively investigating the origin of the seized narcotics, aiming to dismantle any distribution network associated with the contraband. The authorities are determined to trace the supply chain and bring those involved to justice.
