Sourav Ganguly, former captain of the Indian cricket team, has expressed his views on the future of cricket veterans Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the 2027 ODI World Cup. He acknowledged the difficulty both players might face in maintaining their fitness and form to secure spots in the squad.

Ganguly noted that by the time the World Cup arrives, hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia, Kohli and Sharma will be significantly older, posing challenges in retaining their competitive edge with limited international games. The two stalwarts have a combined record of over 25,000 runs and 83 centuries.

The former captain emphasized the importance of finding suitable replacements to preserve India's cricketing success. He also highlighted the remarkable career of Yuvraj Singh, pointing out the lack of opportunities he received in Test cricket despite his exceptional capabilities in the limited-overs format.
