In a significant shuffle ahead of next month's ODI series against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh has recalled Litton Das among five changes to their squad. The selection shake-up follows the retirements of Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur Rahim from international cricket, reports ESPNcricinfo.

Despite Litton's recent struggles in ODIs, scoring just 35 runs across eight matches, his appointment as T20I captain prompted his recall. Chief selector Gazi Ashraf Hossain cited Litton's leadership role and potential for form revival as reasons for his inclusion. Newly added to the squad are Mohammad Naim, Shamim Hossain, Tanvir Islam, and Hasan Mahmud, with Tanvir set for his ODI debut.

In addressing the team's resilience, Ashraf emphasized the importance of maintaining a robust squad amid injuries. The first two games of the series will be held in Colombo's R. Premadasa Stadium, with the concluding match in Pallekele. Bangladesh's lineup blends seasoned players with fresh talent, promising an intriguing series commencing July 2.
