Veteran spinner Keshav Maharaj made history for South Africa by becoming the first spinner to claim 200 Test wickets for the nation. The landmark achievement occurred on Sunday during the second day of the Test against Zimbabwe, where Maharaj has assumed captaincy duties.

In a crucial captain-versus-captain matchup, Maharaj outmaneuvered Zimbabwe's skipper Craig Ervine to capture his 200th Test wicket. With this achievement, Maharaj joins an elite group of South African bowlers, including icons such as Dale Steyn, Shaun Pollock, and Kagiso Rabada.

Maharaj's momentous wicket came as he masterfully deceived Ervine with spin, leading to a stumping dismissal. Later, Maharaj played an instrumental role in the downfall of Zimbabwe's batting lineup, finishing with figures of 3 for 70. Teammates Codi Yusuf and Wiaan Mulder also excelled, taking 3 and 4 wickets respectively, to restrict Zimbabwe effectively.
