The Indian table tennis teams for both men's and women's categories have successfully clinched their spots for the upcoming World Table Tennis Championships (WTTC) in London. This achievement follows their stellar performance at the 2025 South Asia Regional Championships held in Kathmandu, showcasing their dominance in the sport.
With only 16 coveted Asian quota spots per gender, the competition was fierce. Four regional champions from across Central Asia, South Asia, South-East Asia, and West Asia secured direct qualification for what is considered one of the most prestigious events in the international table tennis calendar.
The Indian teams emerged undefeated in the five-nation round-robin format. The men's team, composed of Akash Pal, Ronit Bhanja, Anirban Ghosh, P B Abhinand, and Divyansh Srivastava, beat Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Maldives with sweeping 3-0 victories. Equally dominant, the women's team, led by Krittwika Sinha, Selenadeepthi Selvakumar, Taneesha Kotecha, Sayali Wani, and Syndrela Das, triumphed over the same countries.
