Seattle, WA: Reigning 100 meters world champion Sha'Carri Richardson has found herself in legal trouble just days ahead of the US Track & Field Championships. According to USA TODAY Sports, Richardson was arrested at a Seattle airport on charges of domestic violence.

The 25-year-old Olympic silver medalist is accused of pushing her male companion, causing him to fall into a nearby column during an argument. The incident reportedly took place on the evening of July 27, leading to her detainment and subsequent release the next day.

Richardson's arrest has raised eyebrows as she withdrew from the 100 semi-finals in Eugene, Oregon, after participating in Thursday's heats. Nevertheless, the sprinter is still slated to compete in the world championships this September, thanks to her prior victory in Budapest.
