In a landmark development for Indian football, FIFA has inaugurated its first talent academy for girls in India. Partnering with the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and the Telangana government, the academy aims to provide top-tier training to aspiring footballers, aligning with FIFA's global Talent Development Scheme.

The facility, housed at the Gachibowli Stadium Complex, offers intensive, year-round training programs for 60 elite players, including 30 boys under 14 and 30 girls under 16. Additionally, ten players from Telangana will be included in each category. AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey hailed the project as a pivotal step towards equitable football development in the country.

Encompassing education, medical care, nutrition, and mental wellness, the academy is designed to elevate India's presence in international competitions, particularly the U17 FIFA World Cups. The initiative is part of AIFF's 'Vision 2047', aiming to establish India as a major footballing nation. Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy noted that the academy paves a clear pathway for young talents to access national and international stages.
