Shubman Gill, the Indian cricket captain, has been named as one of the three nominees for the ICC Player of the Month award for July. This recognition comes following Gill's stellar performance in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy against England.

Displaying exceptional batting skills, Gill amassed 754 runs, including four centuries, during the series, helping India secure a hard-fought 2-2 draw. His performance set a new record for the highest run tally by an Indian captain in a five-Test series, overtaking Sunil Gavaskar's earlier record.

In contrast, South Africa's Wiaan Mulder made an impressive debut as captain and England's Ben Stokes contributed significantly, showcasing their skills to strengthen their nominations for the prestigious award.
