Nic White Comes Out of Retirement for Rugby Championship Tour

In a surprising turn of events, scrumhalf Nic White has put his retirement on hold to join Australia's Rugby Championship squad for their tour of South Africa. This decision follows an injury to the team's regular number nine, Jake Gordon.

White, aged 35, had previously declared that the third and final British & Irish Lions test in Sydney would mark his last appearance on the international stage. However, he has now been included in Joe Schmidt's 35-man squad for the South African tour. Rugby Australia stated, "White is putting his hand up to help the group again due to Gordon's injury, just a week after announcing his plans to retire."

The squad also sees several uncapped players, including Ryan Lonergan and Tane Edmed, joining the fray amidst a series of injury-related adjustments. Flyhalf Tom Lynagh was forced off the roster after a high tackle in Sydney, with Edmed stepping in to fill the gap, marking a tumultuous year following his head injury on test debut last November.
